THE FEMINIST IN US BY NADIA NADDY.

My name is Shufaa, and I am a literature feminist. I started saying this when I was 19years old where I didn’t even know what exactly feminism is. I had no Idea of my own definition of it. I just used to call myself that because I used to write poems about women and what the society rates them compared to men. I didn’t know what it mean because again I hadn’t heard it anywhere else until I saw that my friend carolendanu.wordpress.com is branded the same. That is when I started finding out whether we have the same meaning, that is where I started finding reasons why I accepted to be a feminist.
I met Jamila, the lady behind www.lifeinmombasa.com who thought I write well. Thank you love ?. She introduced me to Nadia in instagram and I finally met her on her style branch launch and from her expression of life I got another meaning of feminism. It is wide. It is what you understand it and how you put it. The meaning of feminism is actually what you want it to be. Majority of peoples definition is negative. People say “feminists are angry ladies who have not found husbands to marry” but hey.,,, how would I be looking for  a husband at 19?. [To me feminism is basically the state of female gender in equality to the male gender
]~ extract from the book.

Nadia collected the positive meanings of feminism from people in more than ten countries in the world. She combined everybody’s thoughts about it and how they would put it infront of people inside the book. This Young East African Girl (As expressed by Drake AKA Drizzy, Hey Boo!) Is tired of people rejecting the feminist movement and building up misconceptions on something that is needed to elevate women. She says,

I went deeper into understanding what this misconception is about: Through my real life experiences, quotes from men and women from different parts of the world. In hopes to change people minds and give them a clear understanding and appreciation of the movement. In my book you’ll discover: • A society where expression and feminism are being confused and being treated as one. • A journey that would be thought provoking • Gender Bashing, Sexual Abuse and Domestic Violence that face women. And • My personal quotes that uplift and promote self-love

This way, she empowers people who are lost in thoughts, people who do not know the real reasons why some of us still stand to the thought that the female gender is equal to the male gender, in different ways.

The society should behave according to the reality of the various historical contexts.
The evolution of the human genuine has given rise to technological innovation and advancement that has even shocked humanity itself and possibly angels. This advancement should guide our behavior and perception  today.
