ACTING, ACCORDING TO HIS VIEWS

“DREAMS ARE NOT THOSE THINGS WE SEE WHEN WE ARE ASLEEP, DREAMS ARE THOSE WE CAN’T SLEEP  WITHOUT  ACHIEVING… HE/SHE SHOULD NOT REST UNTIL IT HAPPENS”

He is a brother, a teacher and a role model to many. The fact that he is so friendly and farmiliarises with everyone makes people like him more and what he does. Regarding what he does, he needs people too. A brief interview about him and what he does will clear many people’s doubts and answer their questions as well

Ali Mohammed is an artist that has featured in several premiers including SAIDA. He is also a poet and maybe other arts that he has not discovered yet. As Karisa and Ali as well, he answerd the few questions i asked.
1)According to you, what is being an actor/being on screen? Or what meaning does acting have?
“PORTRAY A CHARACTER IN THEATRE, FILM, SERIES AND OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA. I.E THE LIVING TRUTHFULLY UNDER IMAGINARY CIRCUMSTANCES”

2)When did you start acting?
“I LOVED THEATRE MORE SO POERTY SINCE PRIMARY SCHOOL. THOUGH I STARTED ACTING IN HIGH SCHOOL  WHILE IN FORTH FORM.”

3)What inspired you to act or how did you know you can act?
“I WAS INSPIRED BY MY LATE DRAMA PATRON MR. MUGANDA WHILE IN HIGH SCHOOL. HE IS THE ONE WHO MADE ME START ACTING. I REALISED I KNEW ACTING WHILE IN TEAM KUBWA. WHEN I DID MY FIRST DRAMATIZED  CHORAL VERSE IN 2010 UNDER THE MENTORSHIP OF MY DIRECTOR MR. YUSUF M. ALI.”

4)How easy or difficult is acting?
” TO ME ACTING IS NOT DIFFICULT. ACTING IS BEING REAL AND THERE IS NOTHING HARD IN BEING REAL. ”

5)Can you advise someone to act?
” YES. I CAN ADVISE ONE TO MAKE ACTING HIS/HER SECOND CAREER IF NOT HIS FIRST. WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF DIGITAL MIGRATION THE INDUSTRY IS GROWING AT A GREAT SPEED, HENCE CREATING MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACTORS.”

6)What often activities do you do if you are not shooting/ on set? 
” OUT OF SET I TRY GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY. I HELP TRAIN STUDENTS IN THE DRAMA AND MUSIC FESTIVALS. I ASLO EXCRS MY OTHER PROFFESION OF BEING AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER.”

7)What is your strength/weakness in the field of acting?
” MY STRENGTH IS IN ACTING VIOLENT SCENES WHILE MY WEAKNESS IS ACTING SCENES WHICH WILL REQUIRE ME TO SHED TEARS… THATS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME.”

8)How has your life been, as an actor? I.e, easy smooth life or a normal life or struggles? 
“MY LIFE HAS BEEN SMOOTH I CAN’T COMPLAIN GETTING NEW OPPORTUNITIES WITH TIME.”

9)What difficulties/ challanges do you undergo in your field?
“THE MOST DIFFICULT THING IS LIVING A LIE.. THAT IS LIVING A LIFE WHICH IS NOT YOURS… LIVING THE LIFE OF KARISA AND AT THE SAME TIME THE LIFE OF ALI… THATS DIFFICULT TO ME BUT I TRY MY BEST”

10)How can you advise someone who dreams to appear on tv one day? What should he/ she do?
” DREAMS ARE NOT THOSE
THINGS WE SEE WHEN WE ARE ASLEEP, DREAMS ARE THOSE WE CAN’T SLEEP  WITHOUT ACHIEVING… HE/SHE SHOULD NOT REST UNTIL IT HAPPENS”
